The Five Elements of Universe

five elementsUniverse is made up of five elements namely earth, sky, water, fire wind. These five elements are self generated. No one can create or do them. These five elements come together in different forms and create different forms and create different manifestations in our world. Later on, these manifestations decay or diminish into five elements. Let us see the creation of these five elements, existence, characters, and their effects on human life in other words relationship with Vaastushastra.

Earth: Earth is a huge planet and its diameter is 12720 Km. the electromagnetic waves passing across North and south directions thus it the creation of two poles namely the North Pole and the South Pole. A typical imaginary line known a Equator is drawn at centre of earth, dividing earth two equal parts namely North-hemisphere & south-hemisphere. These hemispheres further divided into sub parts with the help of tropic of cancer and tropic of Capricorn.
Further with the equidistant horizontal & vertical lines called longitude & Latitudes are drawn which help to locate particular destination on the planet earth. Out of the total area of earth 29% area is occupied with land whereas the remaining 71% is occupied by sea. The earth rotates around itself and also revolves around sun.

The earth takes 24 hours to rotate around itself & takes 365 days to revolve around the sun.  During this due to summer (uttarayan) & winter (dashkinayan) causing summer & winter on the earth as well as up to 23 degrees variation in sunrise position in East. The direction where the sun rises is considered as east and where the sun sets is considered as West. There are sub - direction in between North, South, East and West. Each one of the five elements has occupied respective position for them in each of these sub direction and the sky element occupy centre portion of all the eight direction.

Vastushastra. Even a thought or a discussion on the subject, first raises the question, whether it is science or an art form. Since ancient times. 64 art forms and 716 subject were deeply studied by our ancient sages. All these art froms and subject are very and related to human life. Patanjali’s Yogashastra’; ‘Ayurveda by Dhanwantari ; the ‘Charaksamhita’; ‘Arthashastra’ of Kautiya; Chanakya vision of political science; unique mathematical studies by Aryabhatta; which later blossomed into ‘Jyotishastra’. In fact these deep studieshave made it possible for us to live our lives in happiness and prosperity.
 
Every individual has a definite idea in his mind regarding his house. He makes every effort to make this idea materialize and when this idea really comes into existence he is naturally happy and thrilled .There is affinity in this house; there is love amongst the members of the family; there is a happy feeling of fulfillment as an owner; where the parents and their children, husband and wife; are real companions .In such a house the children dance happily, the elders rush to the house eagerly after finishing their daily chores. Just like the nature, where birds rush to their nests, the animals rush to their living places & the wild animals too, eagerly to their dens.
    It is, however, observed that in some houses, the members do not have affinity for their home. They have no desire to comeback home. They spend more & more time out of the house and return as if they have no other option. The most important question here is why does this happen?

Q. Entrance to my home is from east, kitchen is on south, bedroom on south west, living room on south east, dining room on north west. Please advise on the application of vaastu to my kitchen 

A. The basic things you have to keep in mind should be as follows: Keep the Gas in the south east corner of the kitchen Person should face the east while cooking. Drinking water should be in the north east of the kitchen. Sink should be in the south portion of the kitchen.

Q. Could you suggest me vaastu tips for the interior planning of my house?

A. For safe and sound interior planning of your house make sure that there is plenty of light, air with proper ventilation and minimum furniture.Bedroom: The master bedrooms should be in the South West corner of the house. If the house has more than one floor then, then it should be on the top most floor.The ceiling should be in level, this makes the energy of the room uniform, which in turn gives one a steady state of mind. Children’s room should be in the north west or west side. To have a better concentration they should have a separate study close to their bedrooms.

Kitchen: The ideal place is south east corner of the building or a kitchen in the west of the building can also be tolerated.  

Study Room: The best locations for this room are the north, west, north west, east, north east. These directions attract the positive effects of Mercury increasing brain power, Jupiter increasing wisdom, Sun increasing ambition and Venus helps in bringing about creativity in new thoughts and ideas.  

Dining room: The dining room and kitchen should be on the same floor and it should be adjacent to the kitchen from the left. The entrance to the dining room and the main door should not be facing each other. The dining table should be square of rectangular in shape and should not be attached or folding against the wall.  

Bathrooms: Bathrooms and toilets should be adjacent to the north- east corner. They should never be constructed in the center or in the south -west corner of the house.

Drawing Room: It should always be constructed towards the north. The rooms located in the northern part of the house should be bigger in size as that compared to the rooms in the southern part of the house. They should be shorter to them in height by one to three inches. This is an important rule of Vaastu Shastra. Furniture should be square or rectangular in shape. 
 

Store Room: If essential then the store room should be constructed in the southern part of the building, other wise grain and other provisions can be stored in the kitchen or in other rooms and cupboards. Things should not be stored in diwans and box beds because it effects the magnetic environment of the self and the room causing sleeping disorders.

Waste Storage: Daily wastes from the kitchen should be kept covered in the south- west corner of the kitchen.  

Height of Rooms: The rooms in the northern part of the house should be larger than the rooms in the southern side by 6-9 inches, and lower by 1-3 inches. Height of rooms should ideally be, 12- 14 feet. Doors/Windows As far as doors are concerned, the main door should be larger than the inner doors and all doors should open towards the walls. All windows should be at least 3 feet 6 above ground level, and should be at the same level from the top.Window openings should be on the northern and eastern sides of the buildings.

The Direction of Houses in Vastu Plays Important Role

‘The Direction’ plays an important part in human life. The North and the East are called ‘Deva Disha’. Heavenly forces flow from these directions, while the south and the west are known as ‘Daitya Disha’ (Demonic Direction).
Demonic forces flow from these directions. The energy flow from the north and the east brings peace, progress, stability, happiness, well-being, and long-life.    Image Human body is an artistic work of the five basic elements in the Universe. The bones & the skin in the body are a symbol of the earth element. Blood represents the quintessence of water. We breathe every moment. Breathing means inhaling the oxygen and exhaling the carbon dioxide. It means that we have element of air in our body. Every movement of our body is a manifestation of energy. It is present in our body in the form calories which represent the element of fire.
The element of sky is present in the body, in the from of cavities. For example the cavity in the mouth, nose and ear, there are cavities of special nature in the heart, the lungs, stomach & intestines. These cavities represent the sky element. When a man dies, his perishable body is either cremated or buried. The flesh and bones which represent the earth element turn into ash. Nature absorbs the Air, Fire, and energy body.
