The Five Elements of Universe
Universe is made up of five elements namely earth, sky, water, fire wind. These five elements are self generated. No one can create or do them. These five elements come together in different forms and create different forms and create different manifestations in our world. Later on, these manifestations decay or diminish into five elements. Let us see the creation of these five elements, existence, characters, and their effects on human life in other words relationship with Vaastushastra.
Earth: Earth is a huge planet and its diameter is 12720 Km. the electromagnetic waves passing across North and south directions thus it the creation of two poles namely the North Pole and the South Pole. A typical imaginary line known a Equator is drawn at centre of earth, dividing earth two equal parts namely North-hemisphere & south-hemisphere. These hemispheres further divided into sub parts with the help of tropic of cancer and tropic of Capricorn.
Further with the equidistant horizontal & vertical lines called longitude & Latitudes are drawn which help to locate particular destination on the planet earth. Out of the total area of earth 29% area is occupied with land whereas the remaining 71% is occupied by sea. The earth rotates around itself and also revolves around sun.
The earth takes 24 hours to rotate around itself & takes 365 days to revolve around the sun. During this due to summer (uttarayan) & winter (dashkinayan) causing summer & winter on the earth as well as up to 23 degrees variation in sunrise position in East. The direction where the sun rises is considered as east and where the sun sets is considered as West. There are sub - direction in between North, South, East and West. Vastushastra. Even a thought or a discussion on the subject, first raises the question, whether it is science or an art form. Since ancient times. 64 art forms and 716 subject were deeply studied by our ancient sages. All these art froms and subject are very and related to human life. Patanjali’s Yogashastra’; ‘Ayurveda by Dhanwantari ; the ‘Charaksamhita’; ‘Arthashastra’ of Kautiya; Chanakya vision of political science; unique mathematical studies by Aryabhatta; which later blossomed into ‘Jyotishastra’. In fact these deep studieshave made it possible for us to live our lives in happiness and prosperity.
Every individual has a definite idea in his mind regarding his house. He makes every effort to make this idea materialize and when this idea really comes into existence he is naturally happy and thrilled .There is affinity in this house; there is love amongst the members of the family; there is a happy feeling of fulfillment as an owner; where the parents and their children, husband and wife; are real companions .In such a house the children dance happily, the elders rush to the house eagerly after finishing their daily chores. Just like the nature, where birds rush to their nests, the animals rush to their living places & the wild animals too, eagerly to their dens. It is, however, observed that in some houses, the members do not have affinity for their home. They have no desire to comeback home. They spend more & more time out of the house and return as if they have no other option. The most important question here is why does this happen?

‘The Direction’ plays an important part in human life. The North and the East are called ‘Deva Disha’. Heavenly forces flow from these directions, while the south and the west are known as ‘Daitya Disha’ (Demonic Direction).
Demonic forces flow from these directions. The energy flow from the north and the east brings peace, progress, stability, happiness, well-being, and long-life. The flow from the south and the west, however, brings about events leadings to difference of opinion, cruelty, sorrow, imperfection & illness.
The study of the system which helps to get blessings of the Lord and at the same time protect us from the demonic forces, which helps to get blessings of the lord and at the same time protect us from the forces, in the house we live in, is know as Vastushastra, It must be remembered that every article in nature is created from the five basic elements and it eventually merges itself with nature. Human body is an artistic work of the five basic elements in the Universe. The bones & the skin in the body are a symbol of the earth element. Blood represents the quintessence of water. We breathe every moment. Breathing means inhaling the oxygen and exhaling the carbon dioxide. It means that we have element of air in our body. Every movement of our body is a manifestation of energy. It is present in our body in the form calories which represent the element of fire.
The element of sky is present in the body, in the from of cavities. For example the cavity in the mouth, nose and ear, there are cavities of special nature in the heart, the lungs, stomach & intestines. These cavities represent the sky element. When a man dies, his perishable body is either cremated or buried. The flesh and bones which represent the earth element turn into ash. Nature absorbs the Air, Fire, and energy body.
